Prof. Margarita Apostolova
Margarita Apostolova holds a Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Biology – Bioorganic Chemistry, Chemistry of Natural and Physiologically Active Substances (c. 70 scientific papers, 1000 citations). She is a Professor in Molecular Biology and head of the Medical and Biological Research Laboratory at the Institute of Molecular Biology – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She has specialized in Japan (Environmental Health), Scotland (Proteomics, MSCA-IF, FP5) and Canada (Molecular Biology, Metal toxicology, and Pharmacology), and has won numerous international awards and honors in molecular and cellular toxicology, and nanotoxicology. Prof. Apostolova was a BioNCP, representing Bulgaria during FP7 and a member of Horizon 2020 Advisory Group for Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Biotechnology and Advanced Manufacturing, and Processing (2013).
