Assoc. Prof. Dessislava Petrova-Antonova
Dessislava Petrova-Antonova obtained an engineering degree in Computer systems and technologies (2000) and PhD degree in System programming (2007) from the Technical university of Sofia, Bulgaria. She was an assistant professor at Technical university of Sofia until 2008. She has joined the department of Software technologies at Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” as a researcher since 2008, where she became an associate professor in 2012.
Assoc. prof. Petrova-Antonova is presently head of MSc program “Technology entrepreneurship and innovations in IT”. She has successfully participated in a number of European and national RTD projects (more than 30). Currently, Assoc. prof. Petrova-Antonova is coordinating 2 national projects “Big Data Innovative Solutions for Smart Cities” (Big4Smart) and “Digital twin modelling of patients with cognitive disorders” (CogniTwin), funded by the National Science Fund. She is a member of management board of “Big Data for Smart Society” (GATE) Centre of excellence, funded by Horizon 2020 WIDESPREAD-2018-2020 TEAMING Phase 2 programme and OP “Science and Education for Smart Growth” as well as a leading researcher in the GATE Future Cities strategic application theme. She has an experience as IT expert in the Ministry of Education and Science. Her research interests and strong background are in distributed systems, Big Data and software testing. She has co-authored more than 70 peer-reviewed academic publications, 2 book chapters and several textbooks.
